The purpose of the Privacy Policy is to protect the security and
confidentiality of information pertaining to bank customers by
providing a guideline that effectively secures bank customer
information from unauthorized access. The confidentiality of
customer records is a basic ingredient of banking and this privacy
policy is formulated to maintain the tradition of trust between
the Kansas State Bank and it’s customers. This notice accurately
summarizes our policies and practices regarding the collection,
use, retention, and security of nonpublic personal information
of our customers who obtain a financial product or service from
us that is to be used primarily for personal, family or household
purpose.
We may collect “nonpublic personal information” about
you from the following sources:
- Information we receive from you on applications or other
loan or deposit account forms;
- Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or
others
- Information we receive from third parties such as credit bureaus.
“Non-public personal information” means any personally
identifiable financial information about you that is not publicly
available.
We do not disclose, and do not reserve the right to disclose, nonpublic
personal information about our customers or former customers to
any affiliates or to any third parties, except as permitted by
law. We are permitted under law to disclose nonpublic personal
information about you to our affiliates and third parties in certain
circumstances, such as to complete the normal course of transactions
which you have requested.
If you decide to close your account(s)
or become an inactive customer, we will continue to adhere to
the privacy practices and procedures
described herein.
We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you
to those of our employees who need to know that information in
order to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical,
electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards
to guard your nonpublic personal information.
Security is a primary concern with Internet Banking. Kansas State
Bank realizes and appreciates the trust and confidence you have
placed in us. Our online banking service provider, NetTeller, and
we have worked diligently to assure that your privacy is safeguarded.
We have taken several steps to ensure your online security, including:
- All of our internet servers use firewalls, data encryption
and virus protection to protect your personal information, and
all
transmissions are encrypted. New technologies are constantly
being researched and incorporated into our safety measures.
- Account numbers are not displayed over the Internet. You may choose
your own personal descriptive name to identify each of your
accounts.
- Every user of NetTeller has a unique ID and PIN. If an incorrect
PIN is entered 3 consecutive times, the account will be locked,
and you must call the Bank to have the PIN reset.
- If you are logged in to NetTeller, but do not perform any activity
for 10 minutes, you will be automatically logged off, and will
need to re-enter your ID and PIN to reconnect.
There are several
steps that you can also take to ensure the security and privacy of your personal
information:
- Always use 128-bit SSL encryption in either Microsoft
Internet Explorer or in Netscape Navigator.
- Keep your ID and PIN number confidential. Change it frequently.
- Do not leave your computer unattended while logged into NetTeller
and log off your session before visiting other websites.
Close your browser when you are done with your online banking session.
- Report any suspicious activity to the Bank or law enforcement officials
immediately.
